Gambler Jake Green enters into a game with potentially deadly consequences. Jake Green is a hotshot gambler, long on audacity and short on common sense. He's rarely allowed to play in any casino because he is a winner. Jake has taken in so much money over the years, he is the only client of his accountant and older brother Billy. One night, Jake, Billy and their other brother Joe are invited to sit in on a private game, where Jake is expected to lose to Dorothy Macha, a crime boss and local casino owner who can't play for squat, but always wins because people are too scared to beat him. Jake isn't afraid of Macha, and not only beats Dorothy in a quick game of chance, but takes every possible opportunity to insult the man. Jake and his brothers leave the game, and Macha puts out the order for a hit on Jake, who ends up working for and being protected by a pair of brothers, Avi and Zack, who are out to take Macha down. I just watched this film on television yesterday with my girlfriend. We both enjoyed the film. We both found it thoroughly enjoyable. It was a little weird from time to time. Some things went unanswered but it was refreshing. I read some reviews here and some gave the film a very low score I truly cannot understand that. It might not be the best film ever made but it is IMHO better then most Hollywood drivel. Not Saying Hollywood drivel cannot be enjoyable but this film was of another standard. I liked that the film was a bit dark, I liked the dry humor, I liked how the action scenes were filmed and the absurdity of it all.<br/><br/>Ray Liotta and Jason Statham were fun to watch. Actually for me the whole film was rather funny. Not in any ha ha sense, but it kept a smile on my face. All the small strange little things that were going on. Half of the seemingly pointless, but entertaining non the less.<br/><br/>I am happy to say that I saw this film. unlike many other movies that are made rather easy for you to see,revolver makes you think again and again how brilliant guy Ritchie can be….leaving the critics aside,i think it is a must see movie that will not let you get up from your place till the end….the acting by Jason Statham is also the best…..when people compare this movie with snatch what they are trying to do is that they are not letting the director explain what he is trying to depict….snatch was the best of its time and i think with a different plot revolver did its job…not only the plot is different but the ending is like…WOW…believe me i watched this movie once on the DVD player in my room and had to watch it again on a DVD player downstairs in my house….and best of all….the back ground music is really cool….all i can say is…..GUY RITCHIE did it again…… The film's pretentious style and fractured storytelling preclude any audience involvement in the coy melodrama.
